Although I am a specialty foods importer in Scotland, I read the web newsletter written by Food Navigator USA. They have a similar publication for the UK, but it is a good snap-shot of what is on the minds of mass market food producers and distributors. A recent
article railed against US authorities interested in reducing the amounts of sodium, fat, and sugar in the foods ingested by children. Predictably the large food producer own initiative was presented as far more scientific and developed in a transparent manner.
