Text from New York Times article-9/17/09
Many in the mainstream transportation community agree the next multi-year surface transportation bill needs to significantly boost federal funding for the nation's roads, rails and bridges. But the consensus soon begins to crumble when the issue turns to how to pay for the overhaul -- with lawmakers loath to tell Americans they will need to foot the bill and the rest of the transportation community agreeing that is the only option to pay for…

Drew Marinelli, hunger awareness campaign, was here at the Public Health Institute offices and KTVU covered it!
"KTVU Channel 2 will air the piece on PHI Cares’ donation to Andrew Marinelli’s cause to fight world hunger TONIGHT on the 5 and 6pm broadcasts (we think). Note, a human interest story like this will probably run later in each news cast. If you have the ability to record this broadcast please do so and bring it in on Monday to share with those who missed it."

I've really found this article useful in my day to day work life and EVEN in my personal life. Although don't tell the author but I had to go back to using the folder system again - the search function in our version of Outlook is too slow. But even my strategy for folders has changed. Hope this helps you.By FARHAD MANJOO

Sexual and reproductive health and climate change
The Lancet, Volume 374, Issue 9694, Page 949, 19 September 2009
Earlier this year a Lancet Commission stated that “climate change is the biggest global health threat of the 21st century”. The links below are slide presentations on the use of GIS in our work. Even though travel is restricted, tools available via the web/internet are a bargain in terms of the variety of topics we can select and flexibility in selecting the time to view a presentation.
