National Recreation and Park Association is the leading advocacy organization dedicated to the advancement of public parks and recreation opportunities. NRPA is committed to helping communities advance parks, recreation, and environmental conservation efforts to enhance the quality of life, while also promoting community livability.

NRPA is one of 10 national non-profit organizations selected to support public health efforts to reduce tobacco use and reduce obesity through increased physical activity and improved nutrition throw the Communities Putting Prevention to Work Grant. Over a 24-month period NRPA will promote policies, systems and environmental change strategies to advance the nation’s efforts to prevent chronic diseases and related risk factors.
