4) POLICY CORNER: PHI testifies to Air Resources Board panel about public health co-benefits of cap-and-trade program
Marisa Rimland of PHI’s policy department gave public testimony at the California Air Resources Board’s (ARB) Economic Allocation Advisory Committee (EAAC) meeting on Wednesday, October 7, in San Francisco. EAAC is advising the ARB on its economic analysis of California’s climate change legislation, AB 32, and providing formal recommendations regarding the proposed cap-and-trade program aiming to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Marisa spoke to the need for EAAC to consider the health effects of co-pollutants and provided recommendations on the public health co-benefits that could be realized through careful design of the cap-and-trade program.
Hi Marisa! I'm excited for the webforum tomorrow. Let me know if there is anything you want to discuss beforehand. Also, please add your picture as soon as you can - it's so much more welcoming for participants if they see who is talking/responding to their chats!
