- Huron Wellness Committee (Huron, SD) - I offer peripheral support of committee functions as a volunteer. The Committee and local organizations/businesses facilitated a Community Wellness Summit in June, 2011, based on the process of Appreciative Inquiry in which community members visualized Huron, SD, as happy and healthy in all respects (social, spiritual, physical activity, beautification, nutrition). As a result, the Committee has developed stragegic goals with initiatives for each goal. Many of the initiatives are well under way, community awareness and support is growing, and there is much potential for what yet needs to be accomplished.
