Description of your work (what you do, what your organization/project does...)
Cherylee has over 30 years of program development leadership experience in community health and health care. She joined the Minnesota Department of Health in April 2009 as a planner to develop and implement the Health Care Homes (HCH)project, Minnesota State Health Reform Initiative. She works with the HCH Consumer and Family Council, the Outcomes Measurement Work Group and the Statewide Learning Collaborative. Prior to joining MDH Cherylee worked on community health initiatives at HCMC in the areas of maternal & child health and asthma and set up the New Americans Community Health Center in St. Paul. She was the executive director of a community clinic in Stillwater, MN for 13 yrs and was also the project director for an adolescent pregnancy and prevention services consortium and a comprehensive child development program in Brooklyn, NY. Cherylee completed her masters degree in public health (MPH) with a concentration in international community health education at New York University (NYU) and is a certified health education specialist (CHES). She received her bachelors degree in community health education and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. She has been a public health volunteer in Ecuador, Peru and Paraguay.
