FHI360 (USAID MARPS PROJECT)
Senior Program Officer
I am currently employed by FHI360 under the USAID MARPS Project as a Senior Program Officer looking after the Madang MARPS Project. I oversee the project operations with 4 full time staffs under my supervision at the FHI Field office in Madang and work in collaboration with our 3 Implementing Agencies (Madang Provincial Health Office, VSO and Modilon General Hospital) to roll out the MARPS project in Madang. My roles as the Senior Project Officer are as follow;
Program Development, Planning Implementation and Review
Manage the day to day operations for the prevention component of the project including general programmatic ensuring the quality and timeliness of all activities
Provide ongoing programmatic /technical support and guidance to build the capacity of the implementing agencies in managing and implementing HIV and Health services
Conduct appropriate monitoring of projects to achieve financial, administrative and programmatic goals
Liaise with the Madang Provincial Health Office, Madang Provincial Aids Council Committee, Modilon General Hospital and other government agencies, non-government sectors and private sector to implement the project
Ensure that program activities are aligned with the National HIV strategy and National
Health Plan of PNG
Recruitment of Finance and Project Officers. Work includes; developing job description, terms of references, advertising positions on media and circulating it through email. I also did screening and short listing in partnership with the Tingim Laip and Oxfam International Officers based on set criteria and organize external panel for doing interview for the successful applicants. Also I did the staff induction and orientation at the National AIDS Council Secretariat office for the successful applicant
Motivate and lead the team in meeting program objectives and developing capacity of
Manage Direct Line Reports within a clear performance management framework, and to facilitate their individual development plan in order to optimize team performance.
Promote a positive culture of high performance, customer service, continuous improvement, effective communication and team work.
Finance and Resource Management
In liaison and with support from the Program Officer and senior Finance Officer I do monthly financial plan (Cash Flow) appropriate to the efficient delivery of program
Ensure Implementing Agencies Monthly Financial Reports are submitted on time
Monitor Implementing Agencies Financial Expenditure as rper the plan in sub
