Summary-Health Information Technology for Economic & Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act)

A lot of the focus concerning HIT has been from the perspective of the ACA.  The economic stimulus package (2008-09) also included billions of dollars for HIT.  Below is a comprehensive summary of the Act.  It is helpful to keep this legislation/funding stream in mind when looking at public health & technology. Community clinics will be a big part of driving down population health measures (chronic disease, CVD, stroke), particularly in underserved populations. This has implications for health disparities.
