Top U.S. Department of Health and Human Services staff participate in design and health symposium

The Rhode Island School of Design was the location for a symposium on design and health.  This seems like a new interest of federal agencies like Health and Human Services.  It is really exciting to see this kind of event.  One of the undersecretaries (Howard Koh) spoke at the symposium.  It seems there may be growing recognition of what Olsmstead was hinting at all along.

RISD's president's words are encouraging.  "I invite more healthcare professionals to dialogue with their local art schools and organizations. They will surely find common ground -- the artist's passion and respect for humanity likely mirrors their own raison d'être for entering healthcare in the first place."
