I am curious about what some of you think about Eric Dishman's comment that if we can get more doctors to see patients at home, that would be a sign of better quality in medical care. It just sounds totally off base to me. People do get sick, when they get old. There are a lot of baby boomers getting older. Does Dishman know something I don't . (OK he does---he is an Intel Fellow)
Can someone please let me in on the secret?
Here is the article from Dishman's blog on our company site.
"So they didn't blink at my suggestion that the real measure of quality over the next couple of decades is not reducing hospital readmission rates, but decreasing hospital construction rates. Or put another way, let's drive a paradigm that is all about increasing "hospital reconstruction rates"....as we figure out new things to do with those shiny, expensive medical megaplexes we have built all around the country.
