Despite last month's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld the Affordable Care Act, there continue to be very real threats to funding for public health. Just this week the House Labor/HHS Appropriations Subcommittee passed a spending bill for FY 2013 that would eliminate funding for the Prevention Fund and include a 10% cut across the board to the CDC. In addition, the looming threat of sequestration is very real.

In the coming weeks, members of Congress will be home in their districts to hear the priorities and concerns of their constituents. It is vital that we use this opportunity to elevate the success of community prevention efforts and to educate legislators on the importance of maintaining resources for community prevention and wellness. Whether you are a leader from a community benefiting from these investments, a public health practitioner, or an individual, there are actions you can take to elevate the importance of public health. And now is the time to take them.

Please register for this interactive Web Forum that will provide key strategies, tools and resources that individuals and community advocates can use at this critical time.

The Web Forum will:

*Discuss the latest national developments from Capitol Hill and Washington DC;
*Share evidence, tools and strategies to lift up community prevention success stories; and
*Discuss legislative outreach tools and messages to use during the August recess to educate leaders and decision makers.

Sponsored by the American Public Health Association, PolicyLink, Prevention Institute,
the Public Health Institute and Trust for America's Health

Special Guest Speaker

Adrienne Hallett
