Event Description

With over 40,000 physicians, 600 hospitals and a population of almost 25,000,000, Texas presents a unique challenge in the adoption and implementation of health information technology (HIT). Texas Health Institute is proud to partner with TMF Quality Health Institute to present a unique Texas Health Information Technology Summit, January 14-16, 2010.

The Summit will provide multiple learning opportunities for physicians, nurses, practice administrators and other health care professionals who are looking to begin utilizing electronic health records (EHR) or want to learn more about the alphabet soup of HIT technology. Learning sessions include information on ARRA, Meaningful use, HIPAA and Security and health information exchange. Special sessions have been developed to provide more detailed overviews of EHR adoption and Implementation, Workflow Assessment and Redesign, basic project management for IT and the specifics of ARRA and meaningful use.
